There are a great many fascinating places to visit in the city while staying at our cheap hotel in Granada.
La Alhambra
Half palace and half fortress, to visit the Alhambra is to travel back in time to the splendour of the ancient capital of the Nasrid kingdom. Walking through its luxurious compound and fragrant patios, you will experience first-hand a piece of this Andalusian city´s history. The Alhambra, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the most emblematic symbol of the city and one of the most visited tourist attractions in all of Spain.
El Generalife
Attached to the palace of the Alhambra, these gardens were the preferred leisure spots for Grenada´s Muslim kings. They rest on the slopes of the Cerro del Sol and are worth visiting not only for their ornamental gardens, orchards and architecture, but also for the spectacular panoramic view they offer of the city and of the nearby valleys of Genil and Dauro. The Generalife was built in the middle of the 13th century and is now also a World Heritage Site.
La Catedral
Nestled in the Nasrid Gran Mezquita of the city, right in the middle of Granada, the cathedral is a renaissance temple built on Gothic foundations. The cathedral is large and contains five naves. Before entering it´s worth it to stop and admire the main facade, which contains baroque elements.
Historical Neighborhoods
You can´t visit Granada without first having passed through its most emblematic districts: the Albaicín is one of the most visited and admired for its historic and architectural remnants and for its beautiful views. The Sacromonte is situated on the Valparaíso hill and was the old home of the gypsy community. A neighbourhood with one of the most picturesque views of the city, you just might hear guitars and singing as you walk through its streets and visit the whitewashed caves.
El Parque de las Ciencias (The Park of the Sciences)
This is the first interactive museum of science in Andalusia. The park consists of 26,000 square meters in which to discover science in a pleasant and fun way. Inaugurated in 1995, it´s one of the most significant in Spain.
