The Fallas

World famous, the Fallas are Valencia's most renowned festivities. Dedicated to Saint Joseph, they have been declared of International Tourist Interest, and are held every year from March 15th to 19th. Colour, fire and humour are the main elements of a festival that serves to usher in the Spring. The climax of the festivities takes place at midnight on the 19th, when all the fallas are consumed by fire during the cremà. Just one of the figures, selected by the citizens, will be pardoned.
