Museu del Joguet de Catalunya (Toy Museum of Catalonia)
The city of Figueres

Preparing a trip to Costa Brava? Travelling with children? Are you one of those who believe that one should not lose one’s childish dreams? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then the Toy Museum of Catalonia will add an unforgettable experience to your trip.

The Toy Museum of Catalonia was inaugurated in 1981 in the town of Figueres, or to be more precise in the former Hotel Paris.

The Toy Museum houses over 4,000 unique pieces from the collection of the winner of the National Prize of Popular Culture, Joan Josep María Rosa. Dolls, teddy bears, cars, planes, cardboard animals and horses, kitchens, puppets, cutouts, etc. are among the artifacts you are likely to find there. All traditional toys you can imagine will fill the grown-up mind with joy and nostalgia, while showing to the younger ones the wide range of existing games going far beyond video games and other electronic entertainment.

Toys that at a certain point of time belonged to popular and admired figures such as Federico García Lorca, Salvador Dali and Joan Miró will be just a short distance from you.

But if you want to go further and learn everything about toys, the Toy Museum in Figueres has a special Centre for Documentation and Research on toys and games. You can enjoy a complete experience in the Fregoli Brossa auditorium, and perform all kinds of outdoor activities on its roof.

A great experience to enjoy for the whole family: grandparents, parents and their children. You will wish the visit would never end.
