University of Granada´s Botanical Garden
The city of Granada

The Botanical Garden of the University of Granada is a small-sized garden located in the Spanish city of Granada between the streets of Duquesa, Malaga, close to the Faculty of Law.

It is a small garden of nearly 3,000 square meters where you can enjoy an oasis away from the busy city life. The Botanical Garden is located about 7 miles from our hotel in Granada, being an administrative property of the city’s University.

The Botanical Garden of the University of Granada was built in 1783; and in 1877 two reliefs were sculpted on the facade, representing two famous botanists, the priest Don Antonio José Cavanilles and the doctor Segura Lagasca.

At present the Botanical Garden has become a decorative add-on where you can see a real romantic and historic garden of the university building of the Faculty of Law.

Enjoy the floral variety of the Botanical Garden of the University of Granada. There are more than 70 large-sized tree kinds along with a number of bushes. Among the exemplars we can highlight Ginkgo Biloba, a unique tree of great height, native to China that shows its lovely yellowing leaves every autumn. In addition to this outstanding species, the Botanical Garden of the University of Granada has a great number of other classes: herbs (thyme or lemon verbena), creepers or jasmine of San Jose. It also contains trees such as magnolia, laurel, palm trees and even some oak and cork trees.

Discover the Andalusian nature in the Botanical Garden of the University of Granada while staying with us at our hotel in Granada.
